US President Donald Trump stated that he had discussed the matter of nuclear arms reduction with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and also responded to the question of why the US was resuming its nuclear testing, CBS News reported.

According to Trump, the US has more nuclear weapons than any other country.

“And I think we should do something about denuclearization,” he said.

Trump noted that he discussed this matter with the leaders of Russia and China.

“We have enough nuclear weapons to blow up the world 150 times. Russia has a lot of nuclear weapons, and China will have a lot,” the US president added.

According to Trump, the US is the only country that does not conduct nuclear tests.

“Russia has announced that they are going to conduct tests. North Korea is constantly conducting tests. If you notice, other countries are conducting tests. We are the only country that does not conduct tests, and I want to be... I [i.e. the US] don't want to be the only country that does not conduct tests,” Trump said in the interview.

However, the US president did not specify whether he was referring to warhead detonation tests.
