China-Russia relations are “developing steadily” despite the unstable global situation, Chinese President Xi Jinping stated during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

According to Xi, “since the beginning of this year, under conditions of instability, China-Russia relations have been developing steadily, striving for a high level and high-quality development.”

“[Russian] President [Vladimir] Putin and I have met twice this year, in Moscow and in Beijing. We have exchanged detailed views on strategic and comprehensive issues of China-Russia relations, outlined new plans, and set new guidelines. It can be said that the high level of strategic mutual trust and the close communication between the leaders of the two states are the main guarantees for the stable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership,” the Chinese leader noted.

He recalled that Mishustin and Chinese Premier Li Qiang “conducted a comprehensive review, and we have strengthened bilateral cooperation in various areas and achieved constructive results.”

“I hope that you will be able to maintain close coordination and implement our agreements with President Putin, based on the fundamental interests of our two countries and peoples, and deepen bilateral cooperation to make a greater contribution not only to our countries but also to global development,” Xi added.

Also, he called the Russian prime minister a good friend of the Chinese people and highly praised his contribution to the development of cooperation between Beijing and Moscow.
