Iran has released three French citizens who were imprisoned in Evin Prison, French President Emmanuel Macron announced.

He said that Cecile Kohler and Jacques Paris, who had been held in Iran for three years, have returned to the French embassy in Tehran after their release.

“I welcome this first step. Dialogue is continuing to make their swift return to France possible. We are working tirelessly to achieve this, and I want to thank our embassy and all state bodies for their mobilization,” the French president added.
