Relations with millennia-old friend Iran are very important to us. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday stated this during the international Orbeli Forum being held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

“Nothing in the world can disrupt our friendship and partnership [with Iran]. That would be a move against Armenia. I cannot imagine a government of Armenia that would not continue relations [with Iran] in the spirit of friendship and cooperation,” the FM added.

Mirzoyan noted that there also are international sanctions, which “we have never circumvented.”

“We are sincere and honest with all our partners. We regretfully note that the sanctions [on Iran] limit our economic relations with Iran. At the same time, they are very active, and it will continue like this. I hope that one day the sanctions [on Iran] will be lifted and we will be able to fully utilize the potential,” the Armenian FM added.
