The situation in the Caucasus requires constant attention, said Russian Security Council secretary Sergey Shoigu, reports TASS.

“It is important for us to synchronize our watches. Everything that concerns the latest events, the various developments that have taken place in the region — in the Caucasus, generally in the South Caucasus — requires our constant attention, consultation,” Shoigu said during a meeting with Armenia’s Security Council secretary, Armen Grigoryan.

Inn turn, Grigoryan assured that he is ready to provide details about the situation in the South Caucasus, and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet.

A meeting of the CIS Security Council secretaries is taking place Wednesday in Moscow. Within the framework of this event, Shoigu will hold several separate bilateral meetings, including with his Azerbaijani counterpart.
