During his visit to Armenia, Johannes Luchner, Deputy Director General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission of the European Union (EU) on Wednesday handed to the high-ranking official of the Armenian side on visa liberalization dialogue, Armenia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, the Armenia–EU visa liberalization action plan.

Upon receiving the document, Sargsyan noted that it marks an important stage in the partnership between Armenia and the EU and has already generated broad public attention and expectations, Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved so far in this regard, and stated that the official handing of the EU visa liberalization action plan is proof of genuine joint efforts.

The Armenian side reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the measures outlined in the action plan, the ultimate goal of which is to ensure dignified, safe, and easy travel opportunities to the EU for Armenian citizens.

After the event, Luchner and Sargsyan held a press conference and answered questions from reporters.
