Neither during my predecessor’s term nor during mine has any claim been withdrawn from international courts, and there is no such discussion. Armenia’s representative on international legal matters, Karen Andreasyan, on Wednesday told this to reporters at the National Assembly.

Andreasyan noted this in connection with the fact that Yeghishe Kirakosyan left the position of Armenia’s representative on international legal matters, reportedly because Armenia had decided to withdraw its claims against Azerbaijan, and asked whether he himself had agreed to withdraw them.

“If such a discussion takes place, we will definitely keep you informed,” he added.

In response to a reporter’s remark that the initialed peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan includes a precondition regarding the withdrawal of Armenia’s claims filed against Azerbaijan, Andreasyan said that he has studied the entire package.

“Mr. Kirakosyan, our office has not received any proposal to abandon the claims. If ever the Republic of Armenia, the government of Armenia, the National Assembly of Armenia, the Constitutional Court decide to ratify any agreement whereby it will be decided to terminate any legal process, you will be notified sooner than me,” said the representative of Armenia on international legal matters.
