Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, is confident that his country’s contribution to resolving the still unsettled relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan is very important, TASS reports.

“Throughout this entire period, Russia has done everything to stabilize the situation,” Shoigu said.

Speaking about the threats facing CIS countries, the Russian Security Council secretary emphasized that the situation in the South Caucasus has also become much more stable.

“There is a significant contribution here that belongs to the countries involved in this, as well as to the countries engaged in this matter. I naturally mean Russia, because many might have the impression that the only country that has resolved the eighth or ninth conflict throughout this entire period is the United States,” Shoigu noted.
