Armenia, even before me, my predecessors, my colleagues, have carried out extensive work, have submitted all complaints, petitions to international bodies. I didn't even have anything to add because such high-quality work was done before I took this position that now we simply have to wait for other processes; for example, decisions by international judicial bodies. Armenia’s representative on international legal matters, Karen Andreasyan, on Wednesday told this to reporters at the National Assembly.

Andreasyan noted this in response to a question about numerous reports of torturing of Armenian prisoners of war being held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and what was being done in this regard.

“Also, we need to wait for developments in the peace process, for the significant diplomatic work currently being carried out by a number of our agencies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, several special services, and so on. Allow me not to comment further on this issue, because the remaining ongoing negotiations are within their scope. My scope is only to ensure that our international disputes, through which we have raised that painful issue of prisoners and the issue of the missing, ultimately receive a proper judicial response,” said Armenia’s representative for international legal affairs.
