The first batch of Russian wheat grain delivered from Russia to Armenia, with a total weight of 1,050 tons, has arrived in Armenia via the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The cargo, transported in 15 train cars, passed through Azerbaijan and crossed the Georgia–Armenia state border, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the South Caucasus Railway company.

This wheat grain will be delivered to the Dalarik Station of the South Caucasus Railway.

The launch of this new logistics service was made possible by the decision to resume cargo transportation to Armenia via Azerbaijan. This is the first such transport attempt since the 1990s.

Up to 132 more train cars of wheat grain are planned to be delivered along this route by the end of January 2026.

In addition, the possibilities of transporting other types of cargo are also planned to be discussed.
