Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk has expressed gratitude to Georgia, as well as to his Armenian and Azerbaijani counterparts, for their work in unblocking transport connections in the South Caucasus.

“I would like to thank my colleagues — Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan — for the joint work in unblocking transport connections in the South Caucasus region, as well as Georgia for its constructive participation in organizing transport along this route,” Overchuk told reporters.

In the early morning hours on Thursday, a train carrying Russian wheat entered Armenia from Russia. The cargo was loaded in the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, and it passed through Azerbaijan and Georgia. Transport in this direction had not been carried out for more than 30 years.
