The European rabbinical conference scheduled to be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, has been canceled “for security reasons and due to diplomatic pressure from Iran,” the Iranist Telegram channel reports.
Israeli officials and prominent rabbis were expected to attend the gathering to discuss issues affecting Jewish communities worldwide.
After more than six months of preparation, the organizing committee of the Conference of European Rabbis announced that the event planned in Baku from November 3 to 6 was canceled “for security reasons.”
