The first train transporting Kazakh wheat has arrived in Armenia.

The train, consisting of 15 train cars carrying 1,000 tons of cargo, successfully tested the new logistics route passing from Kazakhstan via Russia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. This transit corridor could eventually become a permanent supply route for Kazakh grain and other cargo to Armenia.

According to Tobilbek Omarov, managing director of the Kazakh national company Prodcorporation, the supply of Kazakh grain to Armenia is an example of food diplomacy.

He added that Kazakhstan’s national grain operator is ready to supply Armenia’s consumers with approximately 15,000–20,000 tons of food grain per month.

In October, Kazakhstan’s national grain operator signed a long-term cooperation agreement that provides for grain deliveries to Armenia’s consumers.

The trial batch consists of grade 4 food wheat, which can be used both for general-purpose flour and for the production of animal feed mixtures.

Also, Kazakhstan has the capacity to export various grades of grain, including durum wheat and high-protein wheat.
