All on board a Turkish military cargo aircraft that crashed Tuesday in Georgia were killed, according to the Turkish government, Turkish media report.

All 20 Turkish servicemen, including the crew members, were killed in the Turkish C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft that crashed near Sighnaghi, Georgia, close to the border with Azerbaijan.

The C-130 is commonly used for the transport of the Turkish armed forces and for other logistical operations.

According to Turkey’s Ministry of National Defense, at the time of the crash, the four-engine turboprop aircraft was flying from Azerbaijan to Turkey.

A statement by the Georgian air navigation service noted that contact with radar was lost minutes after the aircraft entered Georgian airspace. The statement added that the aircraft did not send any distress signal.
