I am pleased to record that the Crossroads of Peace project has entered the implementation phase.
“Of course, I also realize that in this context, the broader context of the ‘Trump Route’ project is at the center of special attention. As for the Crossroads of Peace project [of Armenia], we have already entered a phase where the North-South project is gaining ‘flesh and blood.’ This year we will already open the section from Gyumri to Yerevan, which is now practically ready; only furnishing work needs to be done. The Agarak–Kajaran section is also being built at a very fast pace. Very active discussions are currently underway on the construction of the Sisian–Kajaran section, and, also, the Bargushat tunnel construction project, regarding which we already are entering the final phase, is under special attention.
In this context I consider extremely important that another historic event has taken place: for the first time since Armenia’s independence [in 1991], cargo has entered Armenia by Azerbaijan’s railway—from Russia and Kazakhstan. For now, of course, via the Azerbaijan–Georgia–Armenia route,” added the Armenian PM.
