The 2026 Ford Puma Gen E electric vehicle (EV) has been considerably updated, making it more appealing to buyers, Autocar reports.

One of the main new features is its increased range. The new Puma can now travel over 402 km on a single charge, surpassing the approximately 376km range of the previous 2025 model.

Although its battery capacity remains the same at 43 kWh, Ford engineers have reconfigured it for greater efficiency and improved energy management. This has enabled the range to increase without enlarging the battery size or the EV’s weight.

The charging system is equally impressive. The Puma Gen E can rapidly charge its battery, reaching up to 80% in just 23 minutes using DC charging with up to 100 kW of power. This speed makes the electric crossover very convenient for both city driving and long-distance travel, minimizing charging time.

The 2026 version includes also the BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system, available through a subscription-based driver assistance package. It enables this EV to partially drive itself on highways, enhancing comfort and safety.

The starting price of the new model is $32,900. Orders are now being accepted, and the first of these EVs are expected in May 2026.

The Puma Gen E platform is built on the same foundations as the gasoline-powered B-segment version, providing familiar handling and compact dimensions. Combined with the new powertrain and fast charging, this makes the Puma Gen E competitive with some other electric crossovers such as the Peugeot e-2008 and Mini Aceman.
