YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Rescue Service received a distress, on Wednesday, informing that as a result of the blizzard on Aragats-Tsaghkahovit Highway, in Aragatsotn Region, close to thirty vehicles had piled up on the road. 

But once the motorway was cleared of the snow, the automobiles continued on their travel, Rescue Service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.  

And because of Wednesday’s and Thursday’s snowstorm, similar pile-ups, but involving a greater number of vehicles, also occurred in Lori, Shirak, and Kotayk regions.   

But once the affected highways were cleared of the snow, these automobiles likewise continued on their way.  

But since their automobiles could not be removed from the snow, the drivers and passengers of the three cars, which were stranded on the Voghji-Byurakn Highway in Shirak Region, were taken to Voghji village, where they spent the night. This was the case also with the driver and passengers of an automobile, which was stuck in snow on Kuchak-Tsaghkashen Highway in Aragatsotn Region.    

The snow is still being cleared from these road sections.
