Negotiations on the signing of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement continue, but there is no clear timeframe for the signing of the agreement. Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan told this to reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia Wednesday.

“The process is continuing as normal, and we [i.e. Armenia] have high hopes that the agreement will be signed in the future. In this regard, there are constant contacts between the parties,” Safaryan added.

Regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan border delimitation process, the Armenian deputy FM said that it is being carried out at the level of the heads of the border delimitation commissions of the two countries. “We always disseminate through statements everything that is happening in the process,” Safaryan said, and emphasized that the respective work has not stopped.

Asked whether the next border delimitation will be carried out in Armenia’s Syunik Province, Safaryan replied that if there is any development in that regard, there will definitely be a statement.

And on the question of possible timeframes for signing the aforementioned peace agreement, the Armenian deputy FM said that he cannot provide any clear timeframes.
