YEREVAN. – Armenian oppositional Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Times) newspaper editor Hayk Gevorgyan is arrested on Friday.

According to Armenian News-NEWS.am sources, several people approached Gevorgyan, put him in the car and took away in unknown direction.

Gevorgyan was wanted since Jan. 23 for violating traffic rules and escaping accident scene, police press service employee Armen Malkhasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. He is currently under arrest. His lawyer informed that Gevorgyan will be sent to Nubarashen penitentiary.
