Armenia’s economy minister Gevorg Papoyan on Monday met with Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpey, Deputy Minister of Tourism in Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts.

They discussed the prospects for cooperation in the tourism sector between Armenia and Iran, as well as the avenues for increasing tourist flows between the two countries, the Armenian Ministry of Economy reports.

“Armenia and Iran are long-standing friendly countries, and our cooperation in the tourism sector, especially in recent years, has stable growing dynamics. In 2024 alone, around 179,000 tourists visited Armenia from Iran, and from January to November 2025 we have already recorded 166,000 visits,” the Armenian economy minister said.

Views were exchanged also on a number of other matters aimed at developing the tourism sector.
