Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan on Monday met with Thomas Todtling, Executive Director at the New York Office of Konrad Adenauer Foundation, and Adam Lupel, Executive Director of the Coalition for the UN We Need, in New York.

Abisoghomonyan briefed his colleagues on the latest regional developments, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening and institutionalizing the peace established in the South Caucasus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The deputy foreign minister underlined the cornerstone significance of the agreements reached on August 8 in Washington, aimed at expanding political dialogue in the region, as well as promoting trade and economic ties and investments. In this context, the unblocking of transportation communications in the South Caucasus was also emphasized, based on full respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of the interested countries.

The Armenian deputy FM noted that the South Caucasus has untapped potential to transform into an efficient and secure logistical hub, and its implementation could increase the region’s role in the development of the connectivity network. In this regard, Abisoghomonyan highlighted the vital importance of implementing the Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project and its key component, the TRIPP route project.

Also during the meeting, the deputy foreign minister of Armenia answered his interlocutors’ questions, addressing a wide range of international and regional issues.
