The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) meeting held on November 27 was devoted to security issues and the development of collective forces, CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov stated during a videoconference.

According to him, international and regional security, including within the CSTO’s area of responsibility, were discussed. The Secretary General reported on the measures and steps taken in the military-political situation in which the organization had to operate. The CSTO Council highly appreciated the activities of the Kyrgyz colleagues during their term of the CSTO chairmanship. The entire approved program of measures has been fully implemented.

The important matter concerns the strategy for the further development of the CSTO-format security system, and decisions were made on additional measures, taking into account the current situation. A number of additional measures were adopted to fully implement the strategy.

Also, a series of documents were adopted aimed at strengthening the combat readiness and enhancing the combat potential of the CSTO collective forces. A plan was approved for the further expansion and strengthening of the collective forces, provision with modern weapons and equipment, as well as organizing of command, intended for 2026–2030. For the same period, an anti-drug strategy was adopted, too. Efforts to coordinate actions against international terrorism were discussed as well.

To note, Armenia also is a CSTO member, but it has frozen its participation in the events of this organization.
