The last two centuries have been marked by difficulties, disasters, and occupation for the Turkic world, said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish media report.

In his assessment, everything was done to prevent the unification of the Turks and their becoming one heart.

And recalling the 44-day war for Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020, Erdogan said that at that time “the country’s enemies were spreading slanderous news about Turkey’s support for Azerbaijan.”

“Remember, the foreign policy official of the Republican People's Party [i.e., the CHP, Turkey’s main opposition party] came out and said: ‘Unfortunately, there are reports that Turkey is supplying weapons to Azerbaijan, and according to the reports, jihadist groups are being sent to Azerbaijan.’ Just like in 1945 during the Boraltan tragedy, they made the same mistake in the Karabakh liberation struggle and dishonored our people,” the Turkish president said.
