The Armenian government, at its Cabinet meeting Thursday, approved the program to promote self-employment of displaced persons from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
The explanation of this decision states that this program will contribute to the economic stabilization of former Artsakh residents, reducing the risk of their emigration and labor migration, as well as creating new jobs in Armenia.
The draft proposes to provide assistance to beneficiaries of state housing assistance programs who have received a certificate, have not been engaged in any type of activity in Armenia, and have not paid taxes in the last three months. It is envisaged that a beneficiary can be included in this program once, and only one member of each family can be a beneficiary.
The adoption of this draft is expected to provide self-employment opportunities for about 200 people displaced from Artsakh, contributing to their economic stabilization and reducing emigration from Armenia.
