We are aimed at fully implementing all the agreements reached between the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan, which were made as a result of the meeting held on October 9 of this year in Dushanbe within the framework of the session of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS. Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated this at a press briefing Thursday, as she commented on the issue of the crash of an Azerbaijani passenger plane a year ago near Aktau, Kazakhstan.
“Today, December 25th, marks exactly one year since that tragedy. This is a universal tragedy for us. Citizens of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan died as a result of the plane crash, citizens of Kyrgyzstan suffered. We fully share the pain and suffering of all those who lost their relatives and friends,” the Russian MFA spokesperson added, in particular.
According to her, the root cause of this disaster was “the terrorist attacks carried out by the Kiev regime with drones on Russian civilian infrastructure facilities.”
Zakharova recalled that immediately after the accident, the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan had a telephone conversation.
"We expect that in the near future the Kazakh commission will complete its investigation and we will jointly close all remaining issues related to this tragic incident, this tragedy. No one should have any doubts about that," the Russian MFA spokesperson concluded, in particular.
