Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan received the newly-appointed ambassador of Iran to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, on the occasion of handing the copies of his credentials, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

The deputy FM extended his congratulations to the ambassador on the commencement of his diplomatic mission in Armenia, and expressed confidence that he would make a valuable contribution to the further strengthening and deepening of the relations between Armenia and Iran.

During the discussion following the ceremony of the handing of the copies of the credentials, the sides emphasized the strategic nature of the dialogue between Armenia and Iran, the well-established climate of mutual trust, as well as their shared readiness to continue and expand multi-sectoral cooperation, particularly within the framework of infrastructure projects.

The interlocutors exchanged views also on a number of matters on the regional and international agenda.
