Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen, has signed an order declaring a 90-day state of emergency in the country.

SABA news agency of Yemen published the text of this order.

Accordingly, the state of emergency in Yemen comes into effect on Tuesday, December 30, for a period of 90 days, with the possibility of extension.

As per the order, this measure was introduced due to the need to counter the coup that has been taking place in Yemen since 2014, as well as the uprising instigated by rebel elements who received orders from the United Arab Emirates to launch a military offensive on the eastern provinces in order to divide Yemen.
