A lion and eagle sculpture caused scandal in front of Dumlupinar University in Kutahya Turkey.

As the Turkish Milliyet informs, Turkish MP from the opposition Republican People’s Party Oktay Eskin sent a written question about the sculptures in front of Dumlupinar University to the Turkish Minister of National Education.

The MP asks whether it is true that the sculptures were removed because the eagle and the lion resembled the Armenian Coat of Arms.

Oktay mentioned that the lion was meant to welcome the new students and the eagle was to say farewell to the graduated students.
