The West has allowed itself absolutely shameful situations during multilateral events when it attempted to confirm Russia’s “isolation.” Ultimately, this “isolation” has led to the West’s self-isolation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview at the Christmas Tree of Wishes event, TASS reports.
“Our [i.e. Russia’s] diplomacy continues to develop most actively towards those countries that we now call the ‘global majority’: Asia, Africa, Latin America. And the ‘isolation’ that the West claims is actually the self-isolation of that same Western world. There have been absolutely shameful situations when, during international events—for example, within the framework of the G20—they were agreeing not to shake hands with Russian representatives. When they were seeing us in some corridors near the sessions’ hall, they were pretending to look in the opposite direction; adults were running away," the Russian foreign minister said.
