The first meeting of the Reformation Council of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church has taken place, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan informed on Facebook.

“The Armenian Apostolic Holy Church Reformation Council (hereinafter, Council) has convened its first meeting, during which the main directions of the Church reformation process, organizational steps, and the scope of upcoming work were discussed, based on the principles and objectives worded in the founding declaration.

The Council underscored the implementation of the process in accordance with the principles of inclusiveness, public trust, transparency and accountability, emphasizing the need for steps aimed at uniting the [Armenian Apostolic Church] clergy and laity.

The Council welcomed the decision of the Locum Tenens of the Armenian Diocese of Switzerland, Father Gusan Alchanyan, to join the Declaration and Roadmap for the Reformation of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church. Father Gusan Alchanyan will participate in a Council meeting on the next appropriate occasion.

The meeting discussed the actions aimed at the smooth implementation of the roadmap and the necessary decisions were made,” Pashinyan added.
