Foreign powers are complicit in the protests in Iran, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in an address on state television on Friday.

"Iran will not back down in the face of protests. It will not tolerate serving foreigners," Khamenei said.

He added that anyone working for foreign powers would be rejected by both the people and the Islamic system.

Also, Khamenei expressed doubt about US President Donald Trump's claims of support for the Iranian people, and accused him of being complicit in the deaths of nearly a thousand Iranians in the attacks on Iran last year.
