Russian ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin was summoned to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and handed a letter of protest expressing deep indignation over the statements of Russian broadcaster and commentator Vladimir Solovyov, Armenian MFA spokesperson Ani Badalyan informed.

“The RF [i.e. the Russian Federation] ambassador to Armenia was summoned to the MFA, he was handed a letter protest which expressed deep indignation over the statements made on the air of a program that is part of a state television company. It was emphasized that they are an unacceptable encroachment on the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia and a hostile manifestation and grossly violate the fundamental principles of friendly relations between Armenia and Russia,” the Armenian MFA spokesperson noted.

Vladimir Solovyov had stated that, “losing Armenia is not in Russia’s interests, and Russia should carry out a special military operation not only in Ukraine, but also in the territories of Russia’s sphere of influence, disregarding international law.”
