Thirty servicemen died in the armed forces of Armenia in 2025, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan told a press conference Tuesday.
According to him, 6 of these cases were due to accidents that occurred in the army: lightning strike, electrocution, 2 suicides or attempted suicides, and 2 due to health conditions. But this does not apply to conscripts.
The remaining 24 died from causes unrelated to military service: traffic accidents, domestic causes, and illnesses.
Compared to 2024, however, the number of these cases decreased by 40 percent.
The defense minister added that no cases of murder due to non-statutory relations were recorded in the Armenian army last year. There have been many such cases in previous years. Papikyan assumed that there were no such statistics in previous years.
