Armenian soldiers pass by an Azerbaijani checkpoint while advancing to a position near Sev Lake (Black Lake), Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan told a press conference Tuesday.

Commenting on the situation described in the media that Azerbaijani soldiers are allegedly “inspecting” Armenian servicemen, the defense minister categorically dismissed such a thing. He confirmed that Armenian soldiers pass by an Azerbaijani checkpoint, but added that no inspections were being carried out.

According to him, the question is either to leave that Armenian position or to pass by an Azerbaijani outpost. Papikyan said that as a minister, he is not the creator of this situation. “They pass by, maybe even say hello and chat. There is absolutely no problem at this phase. No problems have arisen for months," the Armenian defense minister added.

And responding to a question about the liberation of Armenia’s territories currently occupied by Azerbaijan, Papikyan stated that this matter is within the jurisdiction of the border demarcation and delimitation commissions.
