Russia and Turkey's participation in the TRIPP project was not discussed. This was announced by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in a live broadcast from Washington after the signing of the document on the framework for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.

Responding to the question about Turkey's possible participation in this project, the Armenian FM noted that such an issue was not discussed, since TRIPP is a joint Armenian-American business project. However, according to him, in the broader context of regional unblocking, it is obvious that without the participation of the Turkish side, it will not be possible to ensure a large logistical transition, as well as the lifting of the blockade of Armenia.

According to the Armenian FM, quite good discussions are underway with Turkey, and they will yield results in the near future. Without the Gyumri-Kars railway, cargo cannot reach Europe through Turkish territory. It is logical that Turkey will become part of the regional communications, but not specifically through TRIPP, but possibly as a continuation of TRIPP, the Mirzoyan believes.

As per the Armenian FM, Russia's participation in this project was also not discussed for the same reasons. The framework of TRIPP is clear. However, in the context of a large-scale unblocking with the participation of immediate or distant neighbors, Russia's participation is possible, and "we do not intend to leave Russia out of the framework," the Mirzoyan said.

Responding to a question about the idea previously voiced by the Armenian prime minister that if Russia, represented by the South Caucasus Railway, is not ready to restore the missing railway sections, then Armenia will do it independently, and whether there was a reaction to this, Mirzoyan noted that such a reaction, in fact, was not planned.

The political and economic vision of the infrastructure was presented, and it is important that the Yeraskh and Shirak railway sections in Armenia, as well as the missing sections, are quickly restored. This has been conveyed to the Russian side, and if there is no response, there will be other scenarios, explained the Armenian FM.
