In accordance with a bilateral agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and guided by the principles of humanity, four individuals—Vagif Khachatryan, Gevorg Sujyan, Davit Davtyan, and Vicken Apraham Euljekjian, who were found guilty under various articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan and were serving sentences in Azerbaijan—were transferred to Armenia, reports the Azerbaijani APA news agency.

It is noted that although the objective reasons for this decision have been explained to the public, discussions on social media suggest that the participants in the current trials in Azerbaijan may also be transferred to Armenia over time.

Azerbaijani government sources, however, told APA that such a thing is impossible.

“These assumptions are illusory in nature. The release or transfer to Armenia of the leaders of the junta [in Nagorno-Karabakh] and other individuals who committed crimes against the Azerbaijani people is ruled out," an Azerbaijani government source noted.

Another Azerbaijani government source also confirmed this position, stating: "They will be held accountable for their criminal acts and, once proven guilty, will be punished with the utmost severity."
