The process of appointing NATO’s new Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia is nearing completion, NATO’s press service said in response to an inquiry from APA news agency, the latter reports.

“The South Caucasus and Black Sea regions are important for Allied security. This is attested by long-standing partnerships that we have with different countries in the region, including Azerbaijan. The process for the appointment of a new NATO Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia is being finalised. We should be in a position to share more details in this respect soon,” NATO’s press service said.
