
The process of normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations was discussed during a telephone conversation between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Monday.
According to the Azerbaijani foreign ministry, during the conversation, the intensification of bilateral contacts and discussions on the preparation of a charter on strategic partnership following the peace summit held in Washington on August 8 was positively assessed, and the parties expressed hope for the earliest possible agreement and signing of the draft.
It was emphasized that the priorities set in this domain will give an additional impetus to relations between the two countries. In turn, Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed Azerbaijan's position on the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the prospects for a peaceful settlement. The steps taken to normalize relations, as well as confidence-building measures, were positively assessed.
Also, the importance of continued work on implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative was noted.
