Armenia's Minister of Environment, Hambardzum Matevosyan, on Tuesday held an online meeting with Bulgaria's Minister of Environment and Water, Manol Genov, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Environment of Armenia.

During the meeting, they discussed a number of matters of mutual interest in environmental protection, as well as possible domains of cooperation.

Also, the Armenian environment minister presented the organizational and agenda priorities of 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) to be held in Armenia, and touched upon the main emphases of the respective upcoming events and the expected work phases. He emphasized that COP17 will be an important platform for coordinating joint steps and approaches to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development goals.

Particular attention was paid to effective water resource management as well. In this context, they emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and promoting joint initiatives.

In addition, they agreed to continue professional contacts and consider specific cooperation opportunities in the future.
