After pulling back from strikes on Iran last week, President Donald Trump is still pressing aides for what he terms “decisive” military options, US officials said, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The respective discussions took place amid the US sending an aircraft carrier and fighter jets to the Middle East.

These deployments could be the beginning of a larger buildup of US military power, which would enable Trump to use the necessary strike force to hit Iran—if he decides to use it.

US F-15E fighter jets had landed in Jordan on Sunday, The Wall Street Journal recalled.
