Vagif Khachatryan, who was returned to Armenia from Azerbaijani captivity, is currently undergoing surgery at Yerevan’s Nork Marash Medical Center, the latter informed Sputnik Armenia.

Khachatryan is undergoing open heart surgery.

Vagif Khachatryan, a native of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), was abducted by Azerbaijan on July 29, 2023, in front of his daughter in the Lachin corridor and taken to the Azerbaijani capital city of Baku when he was traveling to Armenia for treatment—and accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
