The Iranian army is closely monitoring all movements of the US Armed Forces in the Middle East and is taking necessary measures to increase Iran's defense capabilities. Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated this as he commented on US President Donald Trump's statements about deploying numerous American ships to the region.

"Sending any ship to the region will in no way affect Iran's determination to defend its sovereignty. Therefore, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are closely following all movements and, at the same time, are not wasting a single second to increase their defense capabilities, national sovereignty, and the dignity of the country," Iranian MFA spox emphasized at his weekly press conference.

On January 23, President Donald Trump had announced that the US was monitoring Iran and sending considerable military forces to the region. According to him, a large fleet of US naval ships was moving toward Iran. Earlier, the US president had warned that he was seriously considering the possibility of using military force against Iran.
