Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the president of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Mattias Guyomar, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The interlocutors exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the ECHR, ensuring the rule of law, and promoting independent justice. Also, they noted with satisfaction the active engagement with the ECHR at various levels.
In addition, Mirzoyan and Guyomar touched upon the implementation of ECHR judgments. In this connection, FM Mirzoyan noted Armenia's high record in the implementation of these judgments and the closure of oversight, and emphasized Armenia's determination in the ongoing reforms in democratic principles and human rights.
Armenia stands with the ECHR, first of all with the principles and values underlying its activities, and greatly values cooperation with the ECHR in promoting the democratic agenda for the benefit of the citizens of Armenia, FM Ararat Mirzoyan stressed.
