Trilateral talks involving delegations from Russia, Ukraine, and the US have kicked off in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, said.

“The negotiation process has launched in a trilateral format: Ukraine, the US, and Russia. Then, work is planned in separate groups, according to directions, after which a double synchronization of positions is planned,” Umerov said.

This information was confirmed also by a source of the Russian state news agency TASS.

“The negotiations can be considered started, there will be various directions and formats. The participation of the press is not planned,” the interlocutor of this news agency said.

The first round of trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the US took place behind closed doors in Abu Dhabi on January 23 and 24.
