Negotiations between Iran and the US have kicked off in the Omani capital Muscat on Friday, Mehr News Agency reports.

"The Iran-US nuclear negotiations have officially started in Muscat, chaired by Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, with Oman acting as mediator," the news agency said in a statement.

As expected, the topic of the talks will be Iran's nuclear program.
