The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Davit Khudatyan, on Friday received the recently appointed Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami.

The minister welcomed the ambassador and congratulated him on assuming this mission, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Also, Khudatyan expressed confidence that Shirgholami’s activities will contribute to the further strengthening and development of Armenia-Iran friendly relations.

During the meeting, a wide range of Armenia-Iran cooperation matters were discussed. In particular, the energy, transport, and road construction sectors were touched upon.

In addition, the minister emphasized the need for the speedy construction of the Iran-Armenia power transmission line, as well as the need to deepen aviation cooperation and increase flights between the two countries.

Furthermore, an agreement was reached to continue discussions on several other agenda matters in the near future.
