Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan “happily accepted” U.S. President Donald Trump’s invitation to participate in the first meeting of the Peace Council, scheduled for September 19. Pashinyan made this statement during a joint announcement with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance following their one-on-one and expanded meetings.

Earlier, NEWS.am reported that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, accompanied by his wife Usha Vance, arrived in Armenia on February 9 for an official visit. At Zvartnots Airport, they were welcomed by the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, and Armenia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Narek Mkrtchyan.

The American delegation also includes Jacob Helberg, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs. Upon arrival in Armenia, he posted: “Next stop — Yerevan, Armenia.”
