The “trial” in the case of former Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) state minister Ruben Vardanyan continues in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

The prosecution is demanding a life sentence for Vardanyan, APA news agency reports.

Azerbaijani authorities accuse Vardanyan—who has never held a military office—of a number of serious crimes, including planning, preparing and waging war against Azerbaijan, financing terrorism, and forcibly displacing people.

The “trials” of Armenians held in Baku are held without the attendance of independent media and international human rights organizations.
