In the context of unblocking, there is no railway whose opening or reopening is not being discussed. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during Wednesday’s question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly of Armenia—and addressing the question of whether the matter of repairing the railway connecting Armenia’s Ijevan city to Azerbaijan had been discussed with Azerbaijan in the context of unblocking.

"Of course, it is being discussed. But we must also take into account that when talking about the mentioned section of the railway, unfortunately, there is a landslide in the Haghartsin village section, which has interrupted the railway. But, this is a solvable issue, depending on what flows will pass there. That is, if that railway shows load potential, has a prospect of profitability, it can happen," Pashinyan added, and noted that the shortest route from Azerbaijan to Turkey is precisely that route.

Also, the Armenian premier repeated his statement on Tuesday that the export route through Azerbaijan is open for Armenian businesses.
