We will walk towards the joyful and bright holiday of the Holy and Glorious Resurrection of our Savior. This is stated in the message of Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, on the Great Lent season that has started.

“(...) in our days, when our souls are troubled by the problems of national and patriotic life, by various attacks against our [Armenian Apostolic] Holy Church, let us find peace in our Lord Jesus Christ, through Whom we were reconciled with God.

Let us live with all devotion to the nation and homeland, with unwavering zeal for our identity and sacred values, with the determination to remain faithful to our Mother Church.

Let us pray together that this mysterious period of fasting may be a beautiful occasion for remorse and repentance for all of us, so that by recognizing and correcting our mistakes and shortcomings, we may be able to overcome all tribulations and difficulties together," the message adds, in particular.

To note, Armenian authorities have initiated criminal proceedings against Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, and imposed a travel ban preventing him from leaving Armenia.
